“The basic human rights of the transgender community should be maintained” said by His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan while inaugurating the Transgender Awareness programme organised by the Kottarakara-Punalur Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church at Jubilee Mandiram, Kottarakkara.\u00a0 Mar Thoma Church has implemented a project for Transgender in\u00a0connection with the Birth Centenary Celebrations of Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan. Metropolitan exhorted the role of Churches in upholding the human rights of the Community\u00a0by affirming the differences.<\/p>\n
The meeting was presided by Rt.Rev. Dr. Euyakim Mar Coorilos Episcopa, Bishop of Kottarakara-Punalur Diocese. Sri. T.P.Srinivasan, former Indian Ambassorder\u00a0 and an Indian Diplomat in his\u00a0 main message, emphasised the role of awareness among the Public and the Police forces about the transgender Community. He wished the project of the Mar Thoma Church be a milestone in the history. Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius Episcopa gave the felicitations to the meeting.<\/p>\n
